Sneak Peek: French Bakery

Most Filipinos may be familiar with a brand called “The French Baker” back at home in the Philippines and I for one, am an avid fan of that restaurant. So, you can imagine my delight when I saw a logo so similar to it that read “French Bakery” while cruising along Takhasussi St. one evening. I asked my mom to make a quick stop there to have a look-see and to know whether it was indeed a franchise of the well-known Filipino-owned brand (thinking maybe they just felt like adding a “Y” in the end :P).

From the streets, it looked similar.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t. (Hopes dashed, but seriously, logic should have served me right). But in the essence of bringing you something new everyday, I decided to give you a sneak peek of what’s inside.

It is basically your textbook French bakery with staple items like the baguette, croissant and boule on display along with the quiche, eclairs and mille feuilles.

When I checked out their menu though, I saw that they offered a lot of Pizza, Pasta and Sandwich items. They also have an aromatic coffee selection.

Sometimes limited options are better. 🙂

So far, what I could say about the place was that it was spacious with high ceilings but the exhaust could use a little help because in the less than five minutes that I was in there, I came out smelling like an oven. The staff were kind enough to enumerate their items to me and I promised to try it on my next visit. I told them that I was basically trying to see if they were the same restaurant that I know of back in the Philippines.

Hopefully, I can dedicate a full blown entry for this soon or if you beat us to it, do tell us what you think! 🙂 French Bakery is located right across Panorama Mall, along Takhasussi St.
