I have always wanted to feature Livin’G in The Pink Tarha. As a matter of fact, this is the the third time I visited their store. But why did it take me three tries before I managed to come up with a feature? The truth? I have no idea. Haha! I took lots of photos when the store was still new and open only to women customers. Then I took lots of photos again when they finally opened to both men and women customers. But there’s always something that happens before I can sit down, download photos, and write the entry. Either I went on vacation, got busy with other things, or got stuck in a writer’s rut. The moment I emerged from such circumstances, I deem the photos no longer updated. Their stocks might have already changed or these items might already be sold out. And so now, I sit down in front of my Mac and finally, finally write about Livin’G.
Livin’G is a concept store in the heart of the Suleimania district. Bound by the busy streets of Thalateen and Dabab, Livin’g offers well-curated collections of home items and stationery products that focus on creativity, artist collaborations, and special projects with different designers. It’s a great concept boutique that creates a shopping experience like no other. As per their website, L is for life, lady and light. I is for inspire, invent, and impress. V is for value, variety and vision. I is for identify, inform, and interact. N is for new, network, and neat. The apostrophe denotes possessiveness and G is for Ghada AlQarni, the owner. Livin’G is both a stand-alone store and an online shop. And yes, you can shop on both.
However, for this feature, I’d like to show you the Livin’G store itself and how it enthralls me to no end.
Livin’G is beside the Italian pastry shop Dolce Ragusa and just a stone throw away from MacDonald’s Thalateen, and also Yummy Wok and Jan Burger. Don’t get lost. It’s easy to see and find. I actually like Livin’G’s space here. It’s near a busy intersection with lots of of foot traffic. The Livin’G sign is bright and well-lit.
I remember Livin’G space as white, bright, and pleasant. Inside are organized shelves filled with books, decorative items, and stationeries. Their shelves are no longer filled to brim and there are lesser products on display but they’re still nice. Some of them are cool decoration for your desks and some are nice for writing your plans and schedules. They carry items that are great as gifts to families and friends who share the same artistic aesthetics that you and the owners of Livin’G have.
There are two main categories of this shop’s products: Home&Decor and Stationery. When it was newly-opened, there were more of the former but when we visited recently, they have more of the latter. That sits well with me because I’m crazy for stationery and theirs are pretty unique but I kind of like their one-of-kind home pieces too. Anyway, here are the items you’ll find inside Livin’G:
For Your Home
Collections are curated well and you won’t find them as easily anywhere in Riyadh. Let’s go to the stationery side (because I’m really partial to them, haha).
When I got our of Livin’G, I only managed to get a Starbucks coaster (SR 10) and a pad of vintage brunch day stickers (SR 10). I like to take all of their products home but my budget can only afford the coaster and the sticker. Haha! The products are a bit expensive but knowing the care and quality of them, they’re probably worth it. Truly, their collections are nice and has stories to tell. They’re not simply decorations and papers. These are products that are well-thought of and must-have.
So if you’re looking for something unique in Riyadh, try visiting Livin’G. If you can’t leave the house or you live outside Riyadh, then check out their online shop and read their FAQs here.
