A large portion of Middle East cuisine is represented by grilled cooking. Just think of all the kebabs and shawarmas that we enjoy! The Grill of The Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh did us some good as they launched the Turkish Food Festival with great fanfare last October 24. We were welcomed by Mr. Tarek Bekhiet, the Regional Director of Marketing along with the Head Chef, Husseyin Deniz to our first time at The Grill. We were joined by the rest of the media and online “influencers” (as they coined it) and it was a godo opportunity to network and meet the circle of the press.
Dinner started at a little past 7 and we were toured around the elegant interiors and exteriors of the restaurant. Their alfresco dining area hosted the live grill station of donners, kebab, kofta, lamb chops and other grilled meat. Several appetizers, side dishes, salads and of course, Turkish delights surrounded the buffet path and allowed us to select to our heart’s desire. Chef Deniz was generous enough to spend a few minutes with me as I filmed a Facebook Live video with him on our social media platform.
The outside area was a bit dark and my photos can hardly do it justice, but believe me with this kind of cool-breeze weather and a whiff of the savory barbecue grill — your senses will be as filled as your stomachs.
The meat is cooked to your preference and I got mine with the donner a bit on the well done side and medium for the steak cuts. I made sure I incorporated some greens and hummus from the salad bar to complete my Turkish grill experience. Most of their specialties come from the Anatolia region, with classic recipes of Adana Kebab, Iskender Kebab and Beyti among others.
The buffet cost 270SR per person and is offered daily until November 5, 2016. Dinner starts at 7:00 PM onwards so if you’d like to arrange for a sumptuous dinner, you may call in and reserve. Walk-ins are also welcome.
