Makeup Worth Buying At iHerb

It’s quite obvious by now that I am in love with iHerb. I love almost all the products that I bought from them since I started using the website a few years ago. I was looking at the list of items I bought and I already purchased A LOT and I haven’t even reviewed most of them in the blog. WUT. Anyway, I got most of the products that I really liked just in case you’re browsing the website for products that are worth buying. Most of these products are not available easily here in Riyadh. They’re not available in any store or in any pharmacy so having them available in iHerb is great. iHerb delivers fast and online shopping has always been convenient. They have introduced SMSA Express as one of their delivery options. It’s now much cheaper than DHL.

Now, let’s go to the products and reviews! I picked one to two products from each makeup category so they can be used for a full face makeup.

1. Aqua Petit Jelly BB by Holika Holika

It looks like mud (or melted ice cream) but it’s a good BB jelly cream.

What: Jelly BB Makes moist and bouncy jelly skin. Has jelly texture that helps spread evenly creates fully hydrated and shiny skin. It is also perfect for covering up facial blemishes.
Price: SR 42.39

I’ve featured this Holika Holika BB Cream in one of my Faves posts before. At first I didn’t like it because it was hard to blend but I made it work by using my fingers instead of the sponge it came with. This has become one of my go-to BB creams. I don’t consider this as full coverage foundation but more of a light version that has a nice smell, nice texture, and nice buildable coverage that doesn’t look too much. A little of this goes a long way. It’s perfect for people who have oily skin like me because it covers up the pores nicely. Because of its formula, it adheres to the skin and mine looks flawless when blended  right. I’m just a bit tan now because of my Indochina vacation but a swipe of bronzer makes this a perfect suit to my skin tone.

2. Super BB #InstaReady Contour Trio BB Stick by Physician’s Formula

In one swipe, you get a highlight, bronzer and contour. Just blend after!

What: Multi-tasking all-in-1 Contour Trio BB Stick glides on effortlessly, instantly contouring and adding definition to your face!
Price: SR 46.48

If you’re the babe who’s always on the go, you don’t have a lot of time to do your makeup, you need items that are all-in-one to shorten your makeup time. This is what makes the BB #InstaReady Contour Trio BB Stick from Physician’s Formula such a good product. All it takes is one swipe and I already have a highlighter, bronzer, and contour. All I have to do is blend them together. It’s not the most suitable when I’m doing a proper makeup because they don’t match perfectly where I want them to be (like the highlighter sits more on my cheeks than cheekbones) but they’re okay when I’m in a hurry. I just make sure I align the contour part on the hollows of my cheek and the rest I go easy with. It’s a multi-tasker!

3. Blush Palette (Dark) by E.L.F. Cosmetics

Four shades for the price of one.

What: This beautiful blush palette holds 4 gorgeous shades to mix and match for custom color throughout the year. Includes a mixture of complementary matte and shimmery finishes. Great for contouring, shading, sculping, and highlighting.
Price: SR 22.73

This is a blush palette that is worth every riyal you spend on it. It has a nice collection of colors that is suitable for Light and Dark skin tones. The Dark Blush Palette has a nice pink, peach, and deeper colors in shimmery and matte formula. They go on subtle at first but they can also be buildable although I suggest you leave it to at least two swipes minimum for a natural flush. I even combine the matte and shimmery blushes; with the latter being more of a topper. They’re great for every day use and the good thing is there are choices in just one palette. It’s a no-brainer why this is a must in your makeup vanity.

4. Butter Bronzer (Light) by Physician’s Formula

Take yourself to a quick vacation with this tropical-scented bronzer.

What: Ultra-luxurious bronzer, infused with Murumuru Butter, delivers a radiant Brazilian goddess glow!
Price: SR 54.17

I first heard of the Butter Bronzer from Youtuber Kathleen Lights. She was going on and on about this bronzer that smells like coconuts. I came across it in iHerb so I got it. It was truly amazing! The only mistake I made was to order it in Light  Bronze so instead of using it as a bronzer, I’m using it as a compact powder because the shade is the color of my skin tone. Haha. I love how it reminds me of a tropical paradise every time I use it. The powder is not chunky.  It’s so fine and smooth. With the help of ultra-refined pearls and soft-focus pigments, it truly smoothens skin texture and delivers a gorgeously natural bronze finish.

5. Youthful Wear Illuminating Finish Powder (Translucent) by Physician’s Formula

See the specks of shimmer in there?

What: Light as air “finishing powder” invisibly blends into skin, instantly evening out skin tone and refining skin surface, for a smooth skin texture with a flawless, youthful-looking finish.
Price: SR 50.72

This is one of my favorite finishing powders. It has a nice formula that is paraben-free, gluten-free, hypoallergenic and dermatologist-approved. It also promises a lot of things like delivering extended wear of up to 12 hours, 100% less deep wrinkles and fine lines instantly, 94% of lifted and firmer-looking skin after 3 weeks, and up to 10 years  younger in looks instantly. WOW right?! I mean all of those don’t apply to me when I wear this but it sure illuminates my skin to look more radiant. I love how it has shimmers that give a dewy finish. I have oily skin but it doesn’t emphasize that. Don’t be alarmed at the glitter-like shimmers! They’re too fine to make you shine like a disco ball! Haha.

6. Eyebrow Kit (Medium) by E.L.F. Cosmetics

Creamy gel and pigmented powder for the brows.

What: Create brows that are fuller, thicker, and more defined!
Price: SR 11.36

When it comes to kilay, it’s not my life. Haha. I mean, I rarely put too much time and effort in making my brows perfect. I’ve always had full brows that need little maintenance. I usually use eyebrow pencil and spoolie in the morning and I’m done! With this ELF Eyebrow Kit, I am forced to at least take note of how to make my brows more define (I fail, just look at my brows in the photo haha). I recommend this very affordable kit to beginners. The wax helps define and shape the brows while the setting powder keeps them arched. It’s the perfect duo to aid you in your journey to having that “kilay is life” look.

7. Mad for Matte Eyeshadow Palette by E.L.F. Cosmetics

These palettes are ready to play!

What: Achieve Beautiful Bold or Subtle Eye Looks with these Perfectly Curated 10 Matte Eyeshadow Shades
Price: SR 38.77

I don’t reach out for this eyeshadow palette as much as I did when I first got it but it doesn’t mean I don’t like it anymore. It’s still one of the best matte eyeshadow palettes out there with a price you can’t beat. This palette has 10 matte eyeshadow shades that are perfect for work wear. The colors are mostly subtle but there’s one or two in there that can be deepened for a bold evening look. Colors are nicely pigmented and blends like a dream. I find some of the lighter colors can serve as highlighter for the lids and the browns to be contour shades. Great for defining the lids! If you want to add some shimmer, you can also get the Prism Eyeshadow Palette. It’s great for enhancing eye looks from day to evening wear.

8. Intense Ink Eyeliner (Blackest Black) by E.L.F. Cosmetics

Do you want it thin or thick? Think!

What: Quick-dry formula instantly enhances the lash line with rich, long lasting color. Glides on smoothly without smudging, feathering or running. Felt tip pen allows you to create either a sleek or bold line with precision.
Price: SR 15.50

If you’re practicing putting on eyeliner, then this product from ELF will help you achieve it. The tube is bigger than most and it helps for a better grip. The liner is thin on the point and gradually becomes thicker. This is perfect because it can create a thin line with that point of the tip. For a bolder line, just slant the pen along the side. Easy peasy? Well, if you’re a newbie it will take some time to get the hang of it. This liner is not perfect; it does feather but the first few hours after application are safe. Plus, it’s cheap it’s hard to complain.

9. Peri’s Ink Velvet (#9 Love Sniper Red) by Peri Pera

Wow, look at my focus camera skills. Lols. That’s an intense red though.

What: Dive into the long-wearing lip color with Ink Velvet. Its lacquer-like finish without feeling tacky or drying, creamy velvety texture.
Price: SR 29.39

I’m currently into these Peri Pera lip products. I have the Original one which has a watery consistency. I have the Ink Airy which is a bit thicker. Then I have this: the Ink Velvet which is the thickest and creamiest of the bunch. I was afraid to wear this at first because I thought the red color will be so bold but it turns out it was okay. It glided effortlessly and the color wasn’t that opaque which is good for work wear. If you’re looking for the texture of a liquid lipstick without drying your lips too much, then the Ink Velvet is the perfect match for you. I’ll be reviewing all water tints and lip colors from Korean brand Peri Pera that I have soon.

10. All-in-1 Shimmer Strips and Custom Nude Palette (Warm Nude) by Physician’s Formula

All the highlight you need. Glow girl!

What: The must-have nude essentials to create a custom nude look for face and eyes.
Price: SR 50.30

And now down to our last product (for now). But it’s one of the best products ever! This palette has 12 shimmery nude shades that can serve as eyeshadows, eyeliners, bronzer, blush and highlighter. I’m not keen to use them as bronzer because of its shine but as a highlighter… OMG it’s so good! It gives a natural yet radiant glow and accentuates the cheek bones. I use the first two rows as highlighter and it’s the ones of the best highlighter ever! I’m in love with this and is almost hitting pan on this one. You should  try it. I included an alternative highlighter in the photo above: E.L.F. Baked Highlighter in Pink Diamonds and Blush Gems. They’re also good; just scrape the top off when you first use it. They’re a cheaper alternative at SR 15.15 each.

My list will go on and on if I don’t stop at 10. If notice, my list revolved between two brands: Physician’s Formula and E.L.F. Cosmetics. I love these brands. The former for their great, effective products and the former for their affordable makeup. Here is my face of the day using all of the products I mentioned above. The photo is a bit washed out because I took it in natural lighting but hey, that’s an improvement of my bare face! Haha. #nophotoshop

Subtle makeup for an every day look.
