LADIES

When the Pink Tarha blog started, we chose to remain anonymous. We used bars and blinders to hide our faces and identity giving the blog a literal "veil" of mystery. But then now that you already know us through the unveilings we've had last year, what's the point in hiding? With that in mind and the hope to reach out to our dear readers in a more personal way, here's a page that will introduce the Pink Tarha ladies. Consider this our editorial staff box, in true Pink Tarha style. Btw, we'll be happy to meet all of you.

Sampaguita Pride (P), the copy editor

Hi Ladies, I'm Sampaguita Pride and I'm the newest blogger for The Pink Tarha. I'm an OFW's daughter... much like Eyecandy, I spent my childhood and teenage years here in Riyadh. I'm a  Mass Communication graduate from New Era University and I'm currently an online student at the University of the Philippines Open University, taking my Masters in Development Communication. I'm a High School English Teacher in one of the Philippine Schools here in Riyadh. I'm also a Toastmaster and a World Vision sponsor.

I am an artsy, do-it-yourself person. I love home-made and natural beauty products.  I'm also interested in eco-friendly products and lifestyle alternatives, so expect a lot of posts about my experiments home made concoctions, D.I.Y. projects and wellness! And of course, shopping :)

As for my pen name, I hope it would reflect my simple personality and my pride as a Filipina writer. I'm also hoping that we can help create a dynamic image for the online Filipina.

Shoegarfreeruby (R), the managing editor

Hello lovelies! This is Shoegarfreeruby, the blog’s official shoe fanatic which you all know by now. So what else do I fancy aside from shoes? A lot of things! I love dressing-up, vintage, cooking, journaling, online-shopping (or shopping in any form, LOL!), morning coffee, singing, reading blogs, sitting under my tree to think and daydream, playing with our Betchay, breakfasts, embroidery, handwritten-letters, teaching kids, writing wishlists, medidating, good conversations, salmon sashimi, colors, instant photos and cupcakes. I am the quiet type (akala lang nila!) who loves the whimsical and the odd.

Saudi Arabia has been my home for nearly 10 years now, coming here right after graduating BS Psychology in college. My Kapampangan influence has never left me, as evident in my love for cooking and good food. I’m used to writing things for my personal reading, and blogging has been a different avenue for me which still needs some getting used to. Being 2nd generation OFW’s, this is our way of sharing the blessings and the beauty of being here in the desert land. Welcome to our kikay world!

Eyecandy (E), the communications editor

I forever question who I am, or if ever a set of words can actually describe a person of Life, which is all beauteous and ever changing. In this case, I shall try.

So far, I am 25 years old, trying to save the world one font style at a time by working as a Desktop Publisher and an Editor for several publications here in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I’ve lived here for most of my life, only going home to the Philippines to study at the University of the Philippines, graduating with a degree in Communication Arts – and a deeper knowledge and love of country.

I am the daughter of an artist who also happens to be a strong and brilliant lady. She taught me how to read, speak, listen to music and eat good food. And in turn, I have come to love books, public speaking, rock and roll and know if pansit was cooked right or wrong.

Call me Eyecandy and I shall catch your attention with a smile – for it is the only way I know how to spread beauty and love in the world, both at the same time. :)

Sundrenched (S), the editor-in-chief

Yours truly is the resident posh and prim “thinker” of the Pink Tarha (aka pasimuno ng mga kaguluhan). To get to know me better, I present you a part of my bucket list (not in order): own a posh condo unit, travel to Marrakech and Agra, spend nights having coffee conversations with friends in Sagada (or okay fine, a coffee shop), write a book, make our family tree and a family scrapbook, read 150 books this 2011, enter photojournalism, find the best chocolate cake in Riyadh, take a long walk at the beach side, and sing in front of a huge audience (whether they like it or not). I have a lot more but I hope you get the drift. And just so you know, I'm "crafty" in all the sense of the word.

And yes, no, that doesn't explain why I chose the nickname, "Sundrenched." I grew up in the sunny, breezy garden coast of La Union. I love it there! And I like it here in sunny Arabia. I am a Journalism graduate from the University of Santo Tomas and I was an editorial supervisor in Makati for 2 years before packing my tiny luggage and hauling myself to Riyadh to be with my father and have a change of scenery. Almost three years after that flight, I’m now sitting back and eating my just des(s)ert.

The Pink Tarha is my way of spreading some sunshine your way. :)
