If there is only one ID a Filipino should have, it should be a passport. Not only is it one of the most recognized documents in the Philippines, it’s also the most recognized ID in any part of the world. Don’t get caught not having without a passport, much less an expired one. So, make sure you renew your passport on time. Please remember that traveling in most countries will require you to have a valid passport for 6 months. For example, your passport expires on December 25, 2011 and you’re traveling to Japan today, they won’t let you in the immigration because your passport is no longer valid for 6 months.When I first went home for vacation in the Philippines, I was so excited and forgot to renew my passport months ahead. Good thing, it only took a month for me to receive my new one or else, I had to re-schedule every thing. My father, who doesn’t really pay attention to these “trivial” things, didn’t know his passport is expiring in two months and he had to travel to Pakistan for work. He had to ask the embassy for a passport extension, which will only be given with valid (business or emergency) reasons. He finally had his passport renewed and he waited a month or so to receive his new passport.
The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh has recently introduced a new appointment system for e-passports. You don’t have to wait in line anymore and you’ll be able to request specific dates and time. It would be less hassle for your work or everyday activities. Only renewals are accommodated on this new system. Lost passports and new passports for children will be entertained as walk-ins. The Consular Section will accommodate 120 applicants daily so it is a must to get your appointment. Ang extension po ay ipinagkakaloob lamang sa emergency cases. Hello Anonymous 11:38PM. My mother went on vacation last November 26 and her passport is expiring on March. She did not encounter any problems. She also just renewed her passport in the Philippines. You can try visiting the EOW though just to be sure. 🙂

Hi Anne, we don't think they accommodate walk-ins. The appointment system is put up in place to organize the schedule of those who are renewing their passports. If you have to renew your passport in immediate/emergency circumstances, you can call the Philippine embassy and inquire on how to facilitate the process.

Minsan naman po kasi, ang 30 days na sinasabi nila ay nangangahulugan ng 30 working days (hindi kasali ang weekends sa bilang). Kung kayo po ay nag-aalinlangan, maaari nman po ninyong itanong muna sa embassy officer sa araw ng inyong renewal.

i just want to ask about the Walk-in Applicants for the renewal of passport..is it okay po mag-walk-in na lang po ako for the renewal of passport kahit po registered online na ko on Oct. 14? kasi i will be going for vacation on december sa pinas, gusto ko po mas early dumating renewed passport ko, it will be expired on Nov. 04, 2014..No problem po ba Ma’am?
Pwede naman po mag-walk-in, basta agahan n’yo lamang po ang punta dahil 100 walk-in persons lamang po ang kanilang tatanggapin kada araw. Pagkatapos n’yo pong makapag-renew, pwede n’yo na pong i-cancel ang inyong appointment schedule para po maibigay ang slot na yun sa iba.

They’re open from 9AM to 4PM from Sunday to Thursday.

Hello, usually po, 1 month lang po talaga or 30 working days. Pero may mga nagsasabi po sa amin lately na medyo natatagalan daw po ang releasing ng renewed passports. Umaabot daw po ng more than 1 month. Minsan, 2 months max.
Check your iqama status in MOI website. There is a new procedure but just add your iqama number on the 2nd tab bar.

Hello Alvin, you need to get in touch with the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh. You can probably report it to them as a lost passport.

As far as we know, there’s no RUSH service in the passport renewal here in Saudi Arabia. It takes 30-45 working days for the renewed passport to arrive (sometimes longer nowadays).

Hello, we have no idea how they work in the Philippine Embassy and what their system is in terms of keeping renewed passport. Maybe your passport just got lost in the numerous passports they process and receive.

Hi po 5 month na po yung passport ko na expire dito….may penalties po bah….then end of contract ko po is may…..baka kasi mag kaproblema amo sa paguwe ko…..iwan koba sa boss ko dipa ne renew…magkano po bah ang renewal ng e passport poh….thanks a lot.
Hello, wala naman po yatang penalties for expired passport pero kailangan n’o na po itong ipa-renew asap. Around SR 200 po ang renewal fee.

My wife and I are staying here in Riyadh for three years now with our new born son. My wife is planning to change her “surname” on her passport so that we don’t need to bring our original marriage certificate from NSO with DFA red ribbon all the time if ever she would change her name on her iqama.

When in May will your passport be expiring? As long as it’s still 6 months valid before the expiration date, you can fly.
