It was my first time to go to H&M Home last week even though it’s been open for a month or so already. I’m just not used to that area of Olaya Street anymore. Or maybe all of Olaya Street. Haha! As you know the Riyadh Metro project is already in full swing and most of the Olaya Street where commercial stores are is now one-way. Sometimes, it’s so traffic; other times, a road block or snarl here and there. The only thing going for this side of the street is the stores that we can’t resist visiting like New Look, Aeropostale, Cath Kidston, American Eagle, Jarir Bookstore, and of course H&M.
H&M Home is inside the H&M store in Olaya Street.
H&M Home offers a large selection of top quality interior designs and decorations that will make the rooms of your houses look like it came out from Real Living or Apartment Therapy. The items in H&M Home are not your usual decors. They add character to your spaces and I tell you, I wanted everything in that store. Their newest collection spells of summer festivities. You can feel the beach around you just by looking at this display:

The blues and stripes remind us of a day in the beach.
You see what they did there? You feel the sea breeze and imagine dining on the seashore but they didn’t even use nautical prints. This is the peg for the loooong dry and hot spell in Saudi Arabia. Here are my top picks:
1. Floral Bed Sheet, SR 249
Interesting mix of colors
What I like about this bed sheet is that it might be floral but it’s not saccharine floral and not too colorful that makes my room too feminine. I already have a “Pink Tarha” corner in my room and I wouldn’t want to bleed pink all over so this bed sheet is just the right amount of flowers and I love the use of pastels and solids. If you’re not into floral sheets, that’s understandable. They have ’em in neutral colors too.

2. Everything with Dog Prints

I’m not a pet lover but I can understand why people love man’s best friend. Apart from being playful, they are also so cute and adorable. So they, along with stuff with their faces and prints on, are definitely a welcome addition to our homes.
3. Fabric Containers/Boxes/Bags, SR 59 up

This speaks very much of H&M’s love for anything ‘standard’. They take something so ordinary looking but make it into their own. I would love these in parts of the house where kalat will be. It’s easy to throw in your kid’s toys, your sewing materials, your husband’s tools, etc. Their use is endless.
4. Rose Pillowcase, SR 59

If I have these cases over our pillows in the living room, I will cringe every time someone will sit on them. Hahaha! The rose pillow case is so dainty! They double as a pretty decor in your sala.
5. Party Disposables

We stopped throwing parties of our own in 2013. I guess it’s just the old age setting in. Hahaha! Kidding. We got so busy with other things that we forgot to party! Wow, is that even possible? Well, I’m not a party person really but with these beautiful disposables, I might throw one soon. I mean, how adorable are these tissues (SR 9) ? And these very colorful cups with matching plates (from SR 19). Ayayay!
There are so many more stuff that you can see and buy in H&M Home. They also have bathroom essentials like towels and shower curtains. They have their own range of candles and candle holders. Also pillows and comforters. I am in love with the place. If I can re-decorate my room right now, I’ll do it pronto! But budget-wise, I am left just ooohing and aaaahing inside H&M Home. Haha!
