It was a tad bit late when I realized the value of traveling in style. For ages, I used the same old luggage I had since my college days — cracks, stickers, scratches and all. On a few business trips before, I would just borrow someone else’s carry-on luggage thinking that it wasn’t worth to spend money of my own. But come my late twenties, it seems rather embarrassing to keep borrowing other people’s luggage since I’ve started to travel more every now and then. Plus, hauling a beaten luggage while flying business class doesn’t feel too tasteful in my opinion. Hence, the search for a sturdier and more stylish travel companion begins as I entered Mosafer.
Mosafer (which actually means ‘traveler’ in Arabic) is a one-stop shop for all your travel accessories ranging from luggage, bags, travel pillows, notebooks, keychains…the works. My mom is actually a big fan of this store because she’s big on the fanny packs when traveling and she likes the variety of items that can be found there. She frequents the branch in Kingdom Mall and the one time we were there, she encouraged me to finally start looking for a new set of luggage.
Once you enter the store, you’ll be reminded of the airport and its conveyor belt — but this time, it’s filled with luggage on display. They have sections for Tourists, Business and First Class travelers, providing options for customers from all ranges.
Price ranges for these go from 400SR and up. Contrary to the idea that hard shell suitcases are prone to cracking, recent technologies have developed certain polycarbonate material that makes hard shell cases durable enough to sustain possible “injuries” while en route. Plus, you won’t have to worry about thieves slashing your luggage open. On the down side, you can’t “super-pack” in a hard shell luggage. If you’re one of those who pack til your luggage bulges out a tummy, you are better off with a soft shell luggage (or a balikbayan box! 😛 ).
If you are anything like George Clooney’s character from his movie, “Up In The Air,” this selection might be more of your fancy. Classic, no-fuss black or plain soft trolley luggage, also available in four wheels. Soft shell luggage obviously have more pockets and are more flexible when storing in certain areas.
Traveling with your toddlers? They’d probably enjoy the trip more if they donned on these toy-like luggages that are just too cute.
Speaking of toddlers, I’m note sure how I totally feel about having my kid wear this while we’re traveling. I’m confident that it serves a practical purpose and saves parents a lot of effort in running around trying to find their kid. It’s just visually disorienting for me. Hehe.
Then there were the fancy line of pristine luggage at the First Class section:
Apart from those sections, they also offered some sporty/athletic line of bags:
Traveler pouches and body bags that make accessing your important items easier and more secure:
After looking at all the luggage and bags, let’s have a look into their accessories:
And of course, it’s easy to spot a traveler when they usually have these travel pillows on hand. They really do make a difference in helping you sleep during long flights. Kudos to whoever invented these. 😉
In the end, I finally have my eyes set on one of the hard shell luggages and I am saving up for it because they don’t come in cheap. I’m considering it as an investment to future travels and a step into becoming a globe-trotting-savvy individual. Chos! Other than that, you can expect that Mosafer offers a wide variety of luggage options, fancy travel accessories and some more handy items for your next trip.
