Beauty Bets: L’oreal Infallible Mattifying Foundation

I have found another holy grail foundation and I’m just not saying this because I’ve been lemming this foundation since I watched beauty vloggers use and say good things about this. It just so happened that my friend Kim and I were strolling along Kingdom Mall one night when we stumbled upon the Nectar kiosk in the basement. I’ve seen they have The Balm cosmetics a week before but I wasn’t able to ask the salesman on the authenticity of the products because I was in a hurry. I took the chance to ask now and lo and behold, they were carrying brands that are not easily available in Riyadh and they’re carrying their bestselling products too. Limecrime, Nyx Lip Creams, Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks, Morphe eyeshadow palettes, The Balm blushes and highlighters, etc., they were just there all along. As much as I want to buy a whole lot of items, I had to consider my budget and ended up with just one thing: L’oreal 24-Hour Infallible Mattifying Foundation in Rose Beige.

This goes to my Fave Foundation list!

This goes to my Fave Foundation list!

I have a really very oily face and so this product is a perfect match for me because it instantly mattifies my face without so much effort. This has a medium coverage and lightweight feel. I used the Beauty Blender on the first day I wore this foundation and I didn’t have any problems with it. It glided on effortlessly. On the second day, I used a buffing brush and buffed the foundation in my skin in circles just like what the container suggests and again, no hitches there. At first, I saw that the foundation has settled on dry patches in my face (under the eyes and near the nose). It looked like my skin was exfoliating and has really dry skin when looked up close. I thought I wouldn’t like this foundation because of that effect but I received compliments on those two days that I wore this! One friend asked what powder I was using because my face looked flawless and smooth. Two strangers that I passed by looked at me and exclaimed, “Mashallah!” (That’s a compliment noh? Haha!) That’s when I realized this foundation is doing wonders!

The matte effect doesn’t last 24 hours. I know that not because I let the foundation stay in my face for 24 hours (that’s ridiculous) but because at the 4-hour mark, my T-zone was already oily. It has a medium coverage that covers uneven skin tone. It’s not too cakey, unless you use it in very dry skin (it will show and it will look like you’re nagbabalat). I like my foundation to be dewy but I don’t mind this one because it does its job perfectly. If you’re in Kingdom Mall, check out that kiosk with Nectar products at the basement. You will not walk away with just one makeup product.
