There’s an ongoing Foundation Month in my Beauty Bets so here’s another cult favorite for today: Revlon Color Stay Foundation For Normal/Dry Skin. Off the bat I will divulge that I picked the wrong formula. I should have picked the Combination/Oily because that’s what my skin is. I blame this to my excitement at Boots Pharmacy’s discount on Revlon products two weeks ago; I just grabbed the chance to get me this “America’s most-loved longwear foundation” without looking hard at the kind of formula it is for. Haha! Anyway, I got sucked into the promise of flawless, demi-matte coverage that lasts up to 24 hours. Ermn, who uses foundation for 24 hours?!
This Color Stay bottle doesn’t have a pump applicator so it’s hard getting the product out. I’m always nervous I might accidentally spill out the content (remember, this is a liquid foundation). Other than that, I like how light and consistent this looks on my face. It’s coverage goes on medium at first but then it’s pretty much buildable. It has a lot of shades to choose from and my shade is 330 Natural Tan. I use Findation.com to let me know which shade is equivalent to Maybelline Fit Me! 220 Natural Beige in other brands. The 220 Natural Beige is the right color for my skin tone so I find the equivalent color to other brands through this website; it’s really helpful.
I feel comfortable wearing Color Stay. It gives a natural look. It doesn’t cake or flake throughout the day. It just gives me a smooth look. However, I can’t say that this is a foundation that got to me really well. It’s just an “okay” foundation and I will probably include this in my foundation rotation from time to time but not as much as my favorites. This also sets in my pores after several hours of wearing it but it doesn’t look as bad as how the Maybelline Dream Velvet made it to be. I guess it’s only my bad that I got it in the incorrect formula. I’m getting the Combi/Oily once Boots go on sale again.
