Here’s to hoping I can keep up with these Beauty Bets series I am coming up with. Anyway, I have some new skincare and beauty products that I just got last December and I tried them in January up to now so if you’re into skincare and beauty products that work, I suggest you read this entry pronto. I’m also going to tell you their prices and where I got them, just in case you want to try them yourselves. Honestly, trying new products are fun but they do drain our pockets of funds so be careful. It’s hard to become obsessed over makeup! Haha! Here are the items that definitely made my January more beautiful!
1. Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask
What: Packed with Charcoal Powder, this quirky carbonated mask cleanses, exfoliates, and unclogs pores.
Price: SR 47.73
Where To Buy: iHerb.com
This interesting mask has been all over Youtube so when I saw it in iHerb, I decided to buy it and try it myself. The Youtubers who tried this looked ridiculous while the mask was on their face. You see, this mask goes on like clay or mud on the face but give it a few seconds and it starts bubbling on the face! It looks icky once the bubbling starts but it’s what makes this product effective. The bubbling detoxifies the skin and unclogs pores. Charcoal powder is one of its ingredients; it deeply penetrates the pores to get rid of deep-seated dirt. It also helps control excessive sebum which is perfect for those with oily skin like me. I love using this during the weekend during my “spa” time. After rinsing this off my face, I immediately feel that my skin is smoother and cleaner.
2. Beauty Blender Pro
What: The same exclusive beautyblender material in a pro-favored black color.
Price: SR 80
Where To Buy: Sephora Stores in Panorama Mall, Hayat Mall, Al Nakheel Mall, etc. and online at Beautylish
I’ve been using the Beauty Blender for years now and it’s one of my favorite tools to apply foundation. I’ve been using the pink one until I decided to get a new one. Since I was buying at Beautylish for Jeffrey Star Cosmetics, I decided to add on the Beauty Blender Pro that has a free small Blender Cleanser Solid. The only difference is that this Pro is black, the color of choice of professional make-up artists. When wet, the Beauty Blender doubles in size and returns back to normal when it dries. It’s best used for liquid makeup because the makeup sits on top and doesn’t waste it. I love how it sheers out foundation by the continuous bouncing motion (but it hurts my wrist, lol) and provides a flawless, smooth look. Every lady should have a beauty blender in their makeup arsenal!
3. Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
What: An essential eye shadow collection featuring 14 shades, including neutral and berry tones. Use Anastasia Beverly Hills first permanent palette, Modern Renaissance to create endless looks for daytime and evening.
Price: USD 42 (plus USD 17.95 for shipping) – Approx. SR 227
Where To Buy: http://www.anastasiabeverlyhills.com/
This has been the holy grail eyeshadow palette of 2016. Every one who’s serious with their makeup game has this in their arsenal and what’s not to love? It has 11 matte shades and 3 metallic shades with a dual-ended brush to boot. The colors of these eyehadows are gorgeous and very pigmented. It’s not the usual nude palette; it has bold reds and magentas and some very warm browns and oranges. I love how versatile this palette is! It has colors that are good for every day looks, then it has colors that are glam and formal. It can take me from any day to night looks! LOVE! I’ve wanted this for so long and I have been keeping an eye on this palette at Beautylish but it’s sold out. Until the Anastasia Beverly Hills website re-stocked and I knew right then and there that I have to get it. Online shopping at the website was a breeze. The palette itself is USD 42.00 while the shipping is around USD 17.95 for a total of USD 59.95. That’s a pretty good deal considering that ordering this from online resellers here in Saudi Arabia will make me shell out around SR 30 more. And I will still wait for it for the same number of weeks, sometimes more. It took two weeks to get this to me in Riyadh. I got it the day before my flight to the Philippines so I wasn’t able to play with the eyeshadows immediately. When I came back, I tried this and I fell in love. My favorite shades are Raw Sienna, Burnt Orange, and Venetian Red.
4. Inglot AMC Eye Liner and Inglot Eye Liner Brush
What: High intensity pigments provide ideal coverage and rich colors after just one application. The creamy and delicate long lasting formula dries to a lognlasting, smudge proof, and crease proof finish. Hypoallergenic, waterproof.
Price: SR 70
Where To Buy: Inglot Stores in Nakheel Mall, Riyadh Gallery, Avenue Mall, etc.
I am an eye pencil fan. It’s easy to use and I tend to make less mistakes. However, Inglot gave us an eye liner in a pot and the eye liner brush that is used to put it and I’m hooked! This eye liner is so black; definitely pigmented. I had a hard time using the brush at first but a little practice made me more comfortable in using it to put my eye liner. It just takes time though and I need to be really focused in doing this. Steady and slowly, I got this! The Inglot AMC Eye Liner doesn’t smudge easily and it stays put throughout the day. Although I should remember I’m wearing an eye liner so I don’t rub my eyes. Haha! This eye liner pot comes in different colors but I’m sticking to black. Or maybe a dark brown next time.
5. Huda Beauty Lip Contour in Trophy Wife
What: A line of easy-glide contouring and filling lip pencils featuring intense color payoff and a matte finish.
Price: SR 89
Where To Buy: Sephora Stores in Panorama Mall, Hayat Mall, Al Nakheel Mall, etc.
Apart from lashes, Huda Beauty is known for her lip pencils and liquid lipsticks. Her lip pencils are called Lip Contour Matte Lip Pencil that helps flat, thin, wide, narrow, uneven lips look fuller. I like the Lip Contour better than the Liquid Lipsticks because these are easier to apply and they’re not as drying. It has an intense payoff and I’m in love with the Trophy Wife because it’s an attractive rose wood color that’s good for every day use but can be leveled up to formal or night use. It feels lightweight on the lips and doesn’t budge for hours.
Stay tuned for my beauty favorites this February! I hope I will not be late in posting, haha. Share me yours!
