Beauty Bets: February 2017 Empties

Hello once again to another Beauty Bets Empties entry! I’m not sure if I can keep up with a monthly list of things I’ve emptied out because I have so many products I’m trying that I don’t really finish any thing as fast as I want too. Anyway, I do have some skincare and makeup that I’ve emptied out over the past few months so those will have to fill up this series for the meantime. Haha! Please let me know if you use the same products that I’ve used an we can swap suggestions and recommendations!

1. 3W Clinic Fresh Collagen Sheet Mask

Gentle sheet masks for twice a week cleansing.

What: This is a sheet-type mask containing collagen. The benefits provided by collagen will improve your skin that lost its elasticity, leaving it smooth and vibrant. This hypoallergenic mask sheet stays attached to the face along with the natural skin texture, and will provide a soothing comfort for your skin.
Price: USD 10 (SR 38) for 1 pack (10 sheets) via

Rating: 4 out of 5

I’m finally down to my last piece of this sheet mask. When I ordered the 3W Clinic Sheet Mask last year, it came in a pack of 10 sheets for USD 10 making it only USD 1 a piece. They came individually packed too. I just love how simply refreshing this is. It doesn’t have any smell and  it’s a bit cold on the face. It’s easy to use and it’s dripping with fresh collagen essence. I can’t say it immediately changed my skin but I feel like my skin is well-hydrated after I use it. I also see that my face brighten up. It didn’t irritate my skin like some masks do. It’s cheap and effective. However, I’m not repurchasing because it’s such a hassle to order. I have to wait for quite some time before it arrives when there are hundreds of masks that are easily available here in Riyadh. I saw a lot of variety in Centrepoint and I can’t wait to try some of those.

2. Organix Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco

Argan oil for the hair

What: A unique, precious blend of Moroccan argan oil which instantly penetrates the hair shaft restoring shine and softness while strengthening and creating soft, seductive, silky perfection. Beauty pure and simple.
Price: TBA (Mine was given as a gift.)
Where To Buy: Whites Pharmacy
Rating: 4 out of 5
Will I Repurchase? Not for now.

The Organix Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco was given to me as a gift by one of my college best friends (thanks Anj!). I like the sleek packaging and the on point typography. I also love how gold this is, a testament to argan oil being known as the “liquid gold.” I should have used this up a long time ago but as you know, I went to Morocco and bought myself bottles of argan oil in Marrakech. While the one I bought from Morocco is good for the hair, face, and body, this argan oil from Organix is solely for the hair. It promises to penetrate, moisturize, renew, and create softness and strength while protecting the hair from harmful styling heat and UV damage. After I got my hair rebonded, it became so dry and brittle. I don’t even like the highlight colors anymore. When I began using this argan oil on my hair, putting it after shower in my damp hair, I love how mild and light this is. It doesn’t have a greasy feel. I also like the added shine in my hair and for a while, I began liking how my hair looks again. It definitely moisturizes and provides a natural shine without feeling heavy and oily. I’m not purchasing another bottle because I still have bottles of argan oil I purchased in Morocco. I saw this brand in Whites Pharmacy but I’m not sure if they have this particular product.

3. Milani Conceal + Perfect Foundation + Concealer

One of my favorite foundations.

What: Combat under eye circles, redness and other skin imperfections with this full coverage, water-resistant foundation plus concealer in one. A no mess, no drip pump dispenses just the right amount of fluid needed to achieve a flawless look and works around the clock to keep skin looking naturally perfect!
Price: USD 8.49 (SR 33) via
Where To Buy:, or pre-order with Irene’s Closet KSA
Rating: 5 out of 5
Will I Repurchase? Yes.

I have ten or more foundations that I rotate using every day (I have no idea why I have so many when I only have one face, haha). But the Milani Conceal + Perfect Foundation and Concealer (in Medium Beige) is the second liquid foundation that I emptied out (after Maybelline Fit Me). It’s such a great foundation and beauty gurus also swear by this (especially Glam Life Guru, Tati). I swear by this too, even though I’m not a beauty guru. Haha! It has a beautifully creamy texture that gives a medium to heavy coverage. It’s not dry and not too dewy. It’s perfect for any skin type because even my oily skin loves this! The true test of this foundation came when I went to Morocco. You know how hot Morocco was right from our stories? I was perspiring like crazy and we had to walk most of the time under the sun during our tours and this foundation held! No hulas whatsoever! It didn’t melt! You won’t even see in my photos that I was tired. My face looked fresh and flawless (which it’s not in real life haha) during the entire trip. Unfortunately, where I purchased this already shut down so I’m not sure where I can get this immediately. Huhu. Oh well, for a good foundation, there will be a way to get this again. *crosses fingers*

4. Maybelline Super Stay 24H Powder

The first pressed powder that I hit pan!

What: Exclusive mircroflex formula contains silicon coated pigments that repel water oil and sweat all day. For flawless coverage and shine control all day long.
Price: SR 50
Where To Buy: Boots, Whites Pharmacy, Centrepoint Beauty
Rating: 4 out of 5
Will I Repurchase? No.

I haven’t finished this all up yet but it’s the first pressed powder that I hit pan (yohoooo!). I never hit pan on makeup, like ever. So I’m just adding this to the list because it’s nearing expiration anyway and I need to throw it away. You’ll be surprised that I have tons of Maybelline products. And why not? They’re inexpensive and effective. I noticed though that makeup here in Saudi Arabia are generally more expensive than the Philippines. Major differences on prices especially on their lipsticks. Okay, anyway, I bought the Super Stay 24H Powder to complement the Super Stay 24H Liquid Foundation that I’m also using. I like this powder because it has a good coverage and it controls the oiliness of my face for a few hours. I don’t believe the 24-hour staying power though because it doesn’t last as long as that (and besides, who uses foundation for 24 hours, non-stop?). I probably hit pan on this one because every time I feel like I’m wearing a foundation lighter than my skin tone, I reach for this to even out the color. It works great. I’m not buying another pan because I want to try other products. Hopefully, they sell the Super Stay Better Skin range here.

5. Bath and Body Works Fragrance Mist in Mad About You

Mad about this scent.

What: Lavishly splash or lightly spritz your favorite fragrance, either way you’ll fall in love at first mist! Mad About You is a love-struck pairing of soft peonies & black currant kissed with creamy vanilla musk.
Price: SR 80
Where To Buy: Bath and Body Works branches in Granada Mall, Hayat Mall, etc.
Rating: 4 out of 5
Will I Repurchase? Yes.

Every time there’s a sale at Bath and Body Works, people go crazy! I do too, once in a while. I tend to pick up fragrance mists, shower gels and scrubs to fill my pasalubong luggage for my sisters. Once in a while though, I find a scent that appeals to me and I use it instead of giving it away as gift (sorry sisters!). Mad About You is probably my second favorite scent in Bath and Body Works because it smells so close to my most favorite which is Sweet Pea. Mad About You has top notes of black currant, strawberries and cassis, mid notes of ginger lily, peony, and jasmine and dry notes of amber wood, patchouli and vanilla musk. I’m a sucker for sweet fruity fragrances with a hint of floral notes making Mad About You perfect for my fragrance arsenal (the design of the range, pink and black with huge flowers, is also beautiful). My husband likes this scent too. We spritz this crazy in the morning and our room smells like fruits and flowers, such a spring time aroma. Like most B&BW fragrance mists though the scent doesn’t last a long time. I will repurchase, only when it’s on sale.

So these are just some products that I’ve emptied. Up next in Beauty Bets are my favorites and fails for the month of February. I know, I know. I’m running late on these skincare and beauty series yet again. Haha! Have a great week ahead, Riyadhizens!
