Caterpillar, or “CAT” is known to be primarily a men’s brand. They are recognized as a provider of men’s footwear and hardware to construction sites around the world. Their signature safety boots and apparel are distinctive and reputable for its sturdy design.
Podium is one of the companies that have brought the brand here in Riyadh and recently, their latest collection of urban/casual sneakers have been launched. Meet the CODE Collection – sneakers meant to “keep you going.” We were given a pair of CODE sneakers to test and try: Janelle chose the CAT Yellow pair while I chose the Hex Star White to add to my white sneaker collection.
Both models are available for men and women, in hi- and lo-heights. The fabric is made of soft, nubuck, leather and they are easy to clean and maintain. Design-wise, it’s very simple with clean, adjacent-sewn edges. It’s a nice balance between casual and sporty. As we try our lo-cuts on, we feel the soft texture of the inner sole and as we walk around in it, the grip of the outer sole seems to be solid and firm.

The comfort was instantly obvious and predominant. For its price point of being a little over 200 SAR, I’ve got to say that it’s a good deal for a trendy, no-fuss sneakers. We found the design versatile enough to pair with any outfit and can be worn at work or when on the go. The label of the brand is visible on the side but it doesn’t necessarily bother me that its there. With other colors to choose from, there’s something for everyone’s liking.
The ribbon cutting ceremony officially launched the CAT CODE Collection in Podium Stores.
It was Ms. Isabelle’s first time Riyadh.
We were at the launch event of CODE at Podium 10 and were joined by Mr. Mark and Ms. Isabelle from the Wolverine Worldwide MENA, which handles the Caterpillar brand in the region. Five pairs of CODE sneakers were raffled off to the attendees and 25% discount vouchers were also distributed as a promotional giveaway for the crowd.
